Your Online Guide on How to Write A Good Book Review
First of all, what is a book review and why do people want?
You have just read a book and give your opinion. Essentially, you provide a mini-version of the book so that someone else can decide themselves if it is worth their money and their time.
A book review is a description, analysis and evaluation of a book. He talks about the quality, meaning and meaning of a book. It's not just a short, 6 retry paragraphs. This is not a book report or a summary.
It is your reaction to the strengths and weaknesses of the material. This is how you felt the purpose, content and authority of the book.
There is no bad or bad way to write a review of books. The comments of the book are personal and reflect your opinion. There is no minimum or maximum length. If you write one for an Amazon, you will need to be concise and at the point - but if you write for a magazine, you could run 1500 words or more.
One way to write it is to indicate what the author has tried to do, compare (in your opinion) how this author has succeeded and safeguard them with evidence.
Here are some guidelines:
1. Write a declaration of openness giving essential information about the book: Title, Author, Author, Date of copyright, Book Type, General Objective, Special Cards (Cards, Color Plates, etc.), price and ISBN. (In online reviews, this can be ignored because it is part of the blur for the book and that the data are only a few paragraphs above.)
2. Indicate the purpose of the author by writing the book. You can often get that from their preface or their first chapter. Where they do not go out and say it, you can ask yourself these questions:
a. Why did the author write about this subject rather than on another subject?
b. From what point of view is the written work?
vs. Did the author try to give information, explain something technical, to convince the reader of something?
re. What is the general field or gender, and how is the book?
e. What is the expected hearing?
F. What is the author's style? Did this suit your own tastes?
g. Scan the table of contents to see how it is organized substantially.
g. How did the book affect you? Have you changed ideas that you kept because of that? How does it fit with what you think or your own personal vision? Has he presented old memories from you?
h. Did the book realize what it decided to do?
I. Would you recommend this book to others? How to come?
3. Summarize the book in a lift height - If you had to recommend this book to someone during an elevator conduct, on time between floors.
4. Explain how the author got his point of view. What descriptions have they used? How did they tell the story - and they kept you interested? Do their arguments have a meaning? Did they leave something or left unconvinced at the end?
5. Check to the author (it's quite easy on the Internet) and see if what you find - reputation, qualifications, influences, biographical, etc. - establishes them as an authority. Do you see relations between the author's philosophy, the life experience and the book you're reviewing?
6. If applicable, take note of the book format - layout, link, typography, etc. Are there cards, illustrations? Do they help your understanding?
7. Check your back. How is the index? Are the footnotes accurate and useful? What does the bibliography look like - long, short, randomly? Take notes what you find.
8. Summarize (briefly), analyze and comment on the content of the book and its summary. List the main topics and briefly summarize the author's ideas on these topics, main points and conclusions. Use specific references and quotes to support your statements. Once you have good grip on this book, the conclusion will be simply.
